Teams sought
National selections are not allowed. The concept of a team made up of the best players of a nation is rejected.
The teams will be required to be registered in the name of their bar or of their grouping of bars. A team will not be able to comprise players of more than four different bars.
Each team must comprise a minimum number of 13 players and a maximum number of 25 players.
Exemptions
For Mundiavocat Classic:
• Only one exemption per team will be accepted for one non-barrister player.
• The player must be over 30 and a member of the legal community.
• He must not be a former professional, or semi-professional, football player.
These conditions are mandatory but not sufficient to guarantee an exemption.
For Mundiavocat Master:
Barrister players: up to a maximum of 5 exemptions can be authorised for lawyer players between 30 and 35 years.
Non-barrister players:
• One exemption can be accepted for a non-barrister player.
• The player must be over 35 and a member of the legal community.
• He must not be a former professional, or semi-professional, football player.
These conditions are mandatory but not sufficient to guarantee an exemption.
Format of the competition for both Classic and Master Tournaments
Preliminary phase
Groups composed of 3 or 4 teams each will play in a knock-out round (2 to 3 matches per team: each team will meet all the others in its group).
Ranking
For all teams, regardless of their results, the preliminary phases will be followed by a knock-out round. This will consist of 1/16 finals (if necessary), 1/8 finals, ¼ finals, semifinals and finals. After each round, the eliminated teams will meet each other in further games so that every team can be accurately placed in the ranking. Thus, whatever their results, all teams will play around the same number of games.
Trophies
Awarded at the end of the tournament:
• to the first three teams of each tournament, cups and medals – gold, silver, bronze
• to the other teams of each tournament a cup
• for each tournament, trophies for the best striker, best player, best goalkeeper, and team with the best fair-play spirit.
The draw
The draw of the both tournaments will take place the day before the beginning of the competition, on Friday May 28th, 2010, in Antalya. It will be a full draw and the composition of the hats will allow, as far as possible, for geographical factors making it possible to ensure diversity within each group. Ranking in previous championships will not be taken into account.
